Siletz Tribe Purchases Imprints in Lincoln City

[10/23/2008] – The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians have purchased Imprints in the Oceanlake area of Lincoln City. Imprints is a printing business that is located at 1520 N.E. Highway 101.

“We are very pleased to announce the purchase of Imprints in Lincoln City,” said Tribal Chairman Delores Pigsley. “We are very happy to continue to be a vital part of our community and this purchase allows us to continue our trend of investing in our community.”

The Tribe took over business operations as of Monday, Oct. 20, and acquired the business through its economic development arm – the Siletz Tribal Business Corporation (STBC).

“Imprints fit nicely into our STBC Board’s goals, so we presented it to them for consideration,” said Tribal Economic Development Director Dave Tovey. “We are pleased to be taking this step.”

Tovey noted that STBC Property Manager Cynthia Farlow got the idea of presenting the business to the board for their consideration after meeting with previous Imprints owner Ann Elsasser.

Elsasser owned and operated the business for the previous 11 years. Elsasser, who also owns Granny’s Attic, is well-known in the Lincoln City business and civic community.

“Our board asked that our staff be on the look out for businesses that not only support the local economy, but also look at businesses that our Tribe and its businesses use,” said Pigsley. “We have used Imprints products and services over the years and we have always been very pleased with their performance and customer relations.”

According to Tovey, one of the key components of the purchase was the acquisition of long-time Imprints staff member Tammy Viles.

“Tammy is clearly the key to production at Imprints and we consider her vital to the business’s continuing success,” said Tovey.

Tovey also explained that while the Tribe will look at expanding the business’s product lines in the future, the initial focus will be on maintaining the quality of service that Imprints’ customers have come to rely on.
