Chief Executive Officer

Job Function

The Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) is responsible for providing expertise and direction to the management of enterprises operating under the Siletz Tribal Business Corporation (“STBC”). The primary focus of the CEO is in the areas of the development and successful implementation of the capital investment strategy and business objectives, financial management and the successful operation of its business units. The CEO assists and direct activities, enabling STBC to achieve its economic development goals: establish revenues and profit goals, cost reductions and strategic action plans to improve and strengthen STBC interests.

The CEO also assists and advises enterprise management in the preparation of operation status reports, budgets and business plans and provide similar assistance for such STBC programs and departments as may be directed from time to time by the STBC Board of Directors.

Senior Business Development Officer

Job Function

Serves as the Enterprise & Corporate Manager for STBC & Siletz Management Inc. Under the general direction of the STBC & SMI Boards of Directors. The manager plans, organizes, and implements an economic development strategy to promote the growth and development of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indian’s (Siletz Tribe’s) economic base, assists in the retention and expansion of existing businesses and vigorously seeks out new businesses for the Tribe.

The position includes management oversigth of STBC and SMI staff and has considerable interface with all departments and entities of the Tribe, Tribal Council, and the development and business communities within the Tribe’s service area. Works with the STBC Controller developing & implementing STBC, enterprise and property budgets and is responsible fors STBC human resources & The Siletz Tribe Revolving Credit Program through Siletz Management Inc.

Michael has lived on the central Oregon coast since 2002. A United States Army Reserve Veteran, he enjoys writing, Shakespeare, reading and tinkering with computers.He also serves on the City of Depoe Bay Planning Commission.

Job Function

Supervises Financial and Operational Accounting staff and Administrative staff. Directs and oversees budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, human resources, real estate and insurance activities for the organization. Ensures general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll activities are carried out in accordance with standards established by the STBC. Establishes and monitors budgets Assists the STBC Manager with financial planning and maintenance by: Preparing short and long-range plans. Monitoring revenue and expense budgets in accordance with company profit goals. Forecasting short and long-range cash requirements to assure adequate funds are available.

Keeps the STBC Manager informed of the company's performance and provides advice on all financial matters. Interprets operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the company and makes recommendations for cost reductions and profit improvement as required. Analysis of financial reports and accounts as needed for Economic Development Manager and STBC Board of Directors as needed.

Job Function

Responsible for all Accounts Payable duties for assigned entities; i.e. vendor maintenance, coding, editing, check preparation, 1099 maintenance, preparation and distribution. Preparation of disbursement checks for all assigned entities. Responsible for all Accounts Receivable billing and reconciliations for assigned entities. Prepare bank deposits and reconciliations for assigned entities. General Ledger entries and reconciliations for assigned entities. Preparation of Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements for assigned entities. Provide technical assistance and training on accounting procedures to STBC Enterprises. Assist in the yearly budget preparation. Attend STBC board meetings as needed. Prepare financial reports and schedules as needed. Assist with preparation for the annual external audit. Receptionist/Accounting Clerk

Job Function

Greet and direct visitors, answers the phone, and take messages for the organization. Prepares any correspondence, photocopying, faxing, and maintains files. Orders office supplies and distributes supplies. Receives and distributes incoming mail. Codes check requests for Contract Health payments. Mails copies of all Contract Health checks to the Siletz Clinic. Receives and logs checks for payment for leases, rents, goods or services, and Siletz Tribe Revolving Credit Program payments.

Prepares check deposit paperwork and deposits at the financial institution. Photocopies check and bank deposit receipt for files. Compiles check requests with unsigned checks from the Accounting Technician and obtains signatures for mail out. Mails monthly Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians Elder stipends and Medicare reimbursement checks utilizing the mail meter. Mails informational letter to all new Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians Elders. Checks mail box at the Chinook Winds Casino Resort twice a week.
